SSHE Cylinder Refurbishing
Bimetalix has a refurbishing program to take your worn-out chrome plated cylinders and remanufacture them to like-new condition.
Steps to Refurbish Chrome Cylinders
- Inspect outside diameter and flange of the food cylinder and recommend repairs if required.
- Inspect inside diameter and determine if repair can be made. Note: Each time the cylinder is refurbished the wall thickness gets a little thinner. This inspection estimates how thin the wall will become and advises the customer of our recommendations.
- Inspect jackets, inlets, outlets and repair or replace as necessary.
- Inspect machining detail on both ends (flanges, threads, locking lugs, clips, etc.) to insure proper fit and sealing with the SSHE unit.
- Strip out the old chrome plating.
- Hone the inside diameter until clean and buff to very fine micro finish.
- Reinspect ID for any grooves or galling from wiper blades before chrome plating.
- Chrome plate in multi-layers to .003" to .006" thick.
- Buff inside diameter to high gloss finish.
- Complete final inspection of entire cylinder to OEM specifications.
